Choosing A Telescope

The nice thing about astronomy is you can see a lot with a relatively simple telescope.  You don’t need anything expensive, you don’t need the largest telescope in the world to enjoy the Moon, the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter and some of the deep sky objects as well.

But what I’d say to anyone is go and find your local astronomical society.  There’s one in almost every town, and go and look through their telescopes, and ask their advice.  That’s what I did and I’ve still got the telescope that I bought with my pocket money when I was thirteen.
